MRA=AKK NO. 1279  ONEGITE (quartz included with goethite), GOETHITE on SMOKY QUARTZ

2nd Mesabi Claim, Lake George, Park County, Colorado. EX Ray Berry

Cabinet size specimen 3.25" (8.3 cm) L x 2.25" (5.7 cm) W x 1.6" (4 cm) T. Wonderful specimen of a mixture of pin-cushion goethite (in a ball) with protruding mace-like chocolate brown onegite (smoky, amethystine,  and citrine quartz included with goethite) perched on a smoky quartz crystal. These were mined by the late Ray Berry off of his 2nd Mesabi Claim near Lake George, Park County, Colorado. Many people consider these the finest onegite specimens yet found in the district. This is one of the better pieces from this famous pocket. NOTE: Onegite is a varietal name for quartz that is included with goethite and not a separate species.
