VGP-1580      FLUORITE on AMAZONITE (white stripe)

Blue Moon Pocket, Smoky Hawk Mine, Florissant, Teller County, Colorado      (repair 1X)

2.5" L x 2" w x 1" H (small cabinet). Very rare fluorite on amazonite combination piece. Fluorite is penetration twins very pale lavender (not fluorescent due to iron-rich magma). Fluorite is repaired back onto the amazonite. Typically it separates after formation but the fit is perfect. Amazonite is strong blue green with some white stripes. After 30 years of mining, there is fewer than twenty good fluorite on amazonite specimens. This is one of them.
